Sculpture: Face Forward

"Face Forward” by Christian Ristow

Face Forward is a 12 foot tall robotic sculpture of a human face. Made primarily of aluminum strips, the sculpture’s moving parts are controlled by 12 separate joysticks. It is therefore necessary for onlookers to work together in order to create recognizable facial expressions with the sculpture. “Face Forward” will be on display at Maker Faire Bay Area, May 19 and 20.

  1. This Face forward sculpture looks so modern and stylish. The sculptor was very resourceful and creative; he was able to form a unique work of art. This only shows that inexpensive materials like aluminum strips can be used in crafting stunning works of art. You don’t have to use fancy materials to make art, even the simplest and most “useless” of materials can become great art.
